Fundación Uno in collaboration with UNI (National University of Engineering in Nicaragua), offers a course based on CS50* of Harvard University; an “Introduction to the intellectual enterprises of computer science and the art of programming.”

Once students are accepted in the course, they are required to sign a letter of commitment and honor code. The course includes virtual sessions, face-to-face sessions with lab practices, tutoring hours, Puzzle day, Hackathon, CS50 Fair and lots of fun.

The course has no monetary cost for students; however, in order to successfully complete the course, it is necessary to dedicate an approximate of 20 hours a week (including attendance, virtual classes, study hours and homework). The sessions are held at the UNI in Managua and schedules are flexible.

Upon successful completion of this course we expect student to:

• Have a broad and robust understanding of computer science and programming.
• Know how to think algorithmically and solve programming problems efficiently.
• Learn concepts like abstraction, algorithms, data structures, encapsulation, resource management, security, software engineering and web development.
• Be familiar with several programming languages, including C, Python, JavaScript, SQL, CSS and HTML.
• Engage with a vibrant community of fellow students from all levels of global experience.
• Develop and present a final programming project.
